11am at Musée Bourdelle
A day in the museum can change your view on life sometimes.
This time it did not, but I tried to use whatever I have in my closet lately and not shop any new items. Multiplication of several pieces on top of each other was definitely helpful to play with new feelings of garments. A doubled polo shirt is suddenly thick, heavy and structural, while adding another longsleeve layer just maximised the feeling of being warm and comfortable, but also restricted in movement (another feeling). All pieces were purchased with the season summer in mind and have been worn for 1-2 years now. Adding my beloved Margiela skirt (I hate you Italian sizing) was needed here I feel. Adding an unusual silhouette. Thats the hardest with the pieces we love and cherish, we get used to their texture, silhouettes and colours. My only solution here is to wear them with pieces we didn’t think of before. That newly added piece will change completely the context of the once boring piece and open up a different conversation. Sometimes change is not changing what already exists, but just putting it somewhere else and watching it from there.
