In terms of regrets
no look is bad, if you just layer
I am starting this summary of looks, where I believe I felt very comfortsble, while myself and didn’t make any comprise. Neither on comfort nor on my stylistic choices.
I ordered these Lauren Perrin tights a while ago (funny story how I got them, it took weeks, but I have finally found my favourite tights in the world, clown tights). They are made out of reused fabrics and have some vintage appeal, but they are just perfect I feel.
I paired them with my Comme des Garçons Girl shirts, you might remember them from the fitting sailor blazer that I have. They are extremely comfortable, but I think just any loose wool short will do it, paired with tights. Since a plain navy ensemble wasn’t increasing my heart rate, I decided to add another layer in between, a pair of Margiela undies. Not a great choice fabric wise, except for you love wearing diapers (at this point I had 5 layers around my butt!) BUT nothing weighs heavier than colours and silhouettes, it’s the price you pay for a “good” look.
For the top part I tried to resemblance the Prada SS25 men’s shirts, that have wires at the bottom and make the whole thing look crinkled. This was not a sophisticated solution, because it does unwrap. Nevertheless, I don’t regret the choice, it’s the idea that counts. This could lead to a philosophical discussion on whats more important, the idea or the execution, but for now we’re good.
I see i am taking too much time here.
I talked about the next looks on Patreon, but just one thing I figured later about my looks in general.
I need to add white. Everytime.
It’s that little spark within all that darkness that makes a look interesting at the end. Monochromatic can be exciting as well, but I need TV show excitement when thinking of dressing.
When it comes to some pieces worn and if you’re searching for an oversize cropped trenchcoat option and you’re too lazy to craft one at home, I have found this one also, that I find interesting. Order several sizes up though. Don’t be scared of that, ever!
Since this look was planned for the Sacai show and I own exactly zero Sacai pieces, I tried to keep up with the sporty elegant energy, which lead to this old Balenciaga cargo skirt, there is this Carhartt one that I like as well and I paired it with my old Celine boots, that I got for 300€ at vinted. Another anecdote, I bought these boots once in 2017 for sale in a store and returned them after a day, because I decided and the whole world decided that I was too broke to buy boots in that price range. 7 years later I found them again, no stupid cheap, but I have found them. They remind me a bit of the Falkon or Wader boots and overall we seem to be in a time that loves overly wide boots.
The last interesting piece among all these pieces are probably the Nicklas Skoovgard skats that I got, not really knowing how to pair, but on the morning of the Comme des Garçons I thought of wearing them over tights and a pair of Mary Janes underneath. My beloved Prada ones from 2 years ago are had to find and I would never have got them full price I guess. I really like these Carel ones as well, I know, I am super French now.
