Hi, this is Vogue.
I played dress up while being interviewed by Vogue Polska and I definitely talked too much about my childhood.
This passage here will not be about the shoot in detail. You can read a part of the interview here btw.
This website is constructed to solely talk about looks and thats what we’re going to do. I prepared 3 looks for the shoot, only 3 made it in. My favorite one with the blue gloves is missing, but maybe thats just someone’s editorial eye, that wasn’t as pleased with my Mr. Clean/oldPrada/CommedesGarçons look. Im not wearing Comme here, but I felt inspired by their shows, when deciding that a tulle chiffon neck piece is more than necessary to create an interesting silhouette with the sleeker bottom.
The first look (Mr. Clean) consists of my SS2017 old Prada skirt find from vinted, I added some oddly khaki tights, another pair of Prada Mary Janes, that are invisible here, a swimsuit top from Toteme and my Margiela gloves. I think it turned out almost exactly as I wanted, maybe a tiny more layer between the top and skirt wouldn’t have been bad, now that I see it again after 2 months. Overall I think it’s immensely necessary to add color! and I hate color. I hate it in terms of struggling to integrate it. I found my way through it with accessories and it changed my life, thats why I recommend you to start digging into gloves, scarves and hats. Maybe even glasses. Anything that you can get rid of in worst case, but also put on before your big moment.
The other look (Margiela/Tartan/Musketeer) was inspired by one of my usual inspirations. YOU NEED TO CHECK THE MOVIE ORLANDO. It sums it up pretty well. I think I like a mix of patterns as well recently, disturbingly ill fitting patterns in best case. If they fit, it turns into a Christmas look your parents would admire. I got the skirt on a second hand market, but I saw many different versions of the Burberry tartans still over there. Please do check. Everyone’s cozier and friendlier in a tartan. I topped it with the usual Margiela hat, that seems to be unexistend from the web currently, but I suggest checking brands like Giorgio Armani or Alberta Feretti for this. Don’t ask, just do.
For the third look (Define:Tuba) I went with my obsessively lives Jil Sander pants and a crewneck (tight!) wool sweater. Dries shoes underneath. Finish. Finito. Done. I can die in this.
I saw Dries doesn’t to the slingback for winter season, but ngl I do love the current black Mary Jane version, that you can find below. All seasons proof.
Thanks for sharing your love with me, makes me think of even funnier looks to share <3
