SPRING.

It is time for puberty of the seasons, we are finally ready to try new things.

Probably the most eagerly awaited season of the year and simultaneously the most complicated relationship of our lives.

Because what do you mean, we met for lunch in the park and now we're sitting in front of a fireplace?

I love spring, just as nature intended me to, to love everything that comes back from the dead, but at what cost? At least winter didn't play with our emotions, we know what we're getting into.

To make this game of cat and mouse more bearable, I offer a few suggested solutions.

A skirt or short, a thin jacket, a pair of comfortable shoes. Adaptability and functionality are key here, no decision is a coincidence in this look, it's the sum of years of predictability.

This week I got send a look by one of the upcoming and emerging designers Urte Kat and I loved how this challenged me in every single way. The last time I wore a tube top was probably 2007, making it fit into my current style felt complicated, but also so easy because I knew immediately the only way it was possible for me to wear. Something thick underneath or with a jacket on top, but without losing the slight impact of femininity that for once got stuck into my look, important to keep that alive, don’t kill every spark of joy, its spring.

I love the term lucky girl, especially because non of us just got lucky, we worked hard and it almost feels ironic to wear it. Urte has different versions of this top, I love stripes in every occasion, so went for the maritime look and added my best friend, the Uniqlo polo. I think it was advertised as a serious tennis polo, which makes it again more fun. I know a polo-shirt might not be the most complex item, but it is a piece out of context in this scenario and thats what’s fun about it.

I was initially planning to wear this look with a pleated midi skirt, but then I went for these old (wow it’s been 3 seasons, relax!!) Miu Miu ultra shorts, you can wear your belt in 2 ways and I love that about it. Having the option to wear your belt below your hip feels like I finally have the torso length I needed, I love this one and this one too.
The versatility of tiny shorts is still unknown, benefit of it.

Whenever it gets slimmer on top, I feel the urge to clash it with volume below, we have seen our wader boot styles for a few seasons now and I am incredibly grateful that comfortable boots gained popularity again. Urte’s boots felt like sneakers and they are airy thanks to the wider shaft. I would recommend sizing down for a perfect fit. I have several ones in my wardrobe already and they are just a great piece if you want elevate a more sludgy or comfortable look without putting too much effort into it. It’s always the heels that define the posture!

In my latest post I already mentioned how unpredictable transitional seasons are and in this case specifically the switch from winter to spring can be, but I am a firm believer we can still add some joy to it and make it work with pieces that remind us more of summer for now, while being backed by items that can keep us slightly warm and even showcase our individual style a bit more.

Polo’s under tube-tops, just saying.
